Minutes of NHBUG Meeting – 05 July 2018 – including AGM.

This Meeting was held at  Letchworth Community Hub, Station Rd. Meeting started at 2:15pm, chaired by Marilyn Kirkland.

Approx. 12 members attended. Also attending were: Councillors Fiona Hill, Tony Hunter, Steve Jarvis, Mike Harrison (Royston), Vera Swallow (Royston).  Apologies received from: Guy Brigden Herts County Council).

The Chair gave a report of the year’s activities. The existing Committeee agreed to continue in post. A report of the AGM will be given to North Herts 50plus group.

Matters Arising from last minutes (of ordinary meeting).
Guy Brigden has resonded in writing to the points he noted. These are on the webiste under details of the March 2018 meeting.
There was further discussion of buses using Tannery Drift in Royston. Rather than closures the problem seems to be buses using the route either by mistake or for their own reasons. The problem now seems to have abated somewhat so will check at next meeting.
The point about the stop at Western Way / Heathermead Road was that work was carried out there recently (more recently then July 2017)  despite the stop no longer being in use for any services (i.e. not school services).

Bus services
Several issues were discussed including:
The yellow lines in Icknield Way had improved congestion caused by parked cars.
The Royston 18 service is to be withdrawn and subsumed into the re-timetabled 331 service.
There was futher discussion of the concessionary bus pass.
Due to parking by construction contractors at Addenbrokes Hospital the Trumington Park and Ride (which is in Cambidgeshire but used by many in Herts.) is full early in the moring meaning the park and ride service cannot be used. NHBUG will contact the responsible body. It was pointed out that the Maddingly parking was less busy so vould be used as an alternative in some cases.

Next Meeting.
October 4th 2018 at The Care Hub, Station Rd. Letchworth Garden City. At 14:15.
